Committee

The BDHF committee came together to build the event after the 2013 golf excursion to Harbor Springs.   The committee is responsible for setting handicaps,  organizing mailing lists,  selecting the invitees and preparing scoring.  Other committee responsibilities are to select golf courses for future events,  prepare tee times,  and cook for the group.

Primary Committee Members:

John Millard Jr

John is responsible for maintenance of the score sheets and data entry during the event.   Other responsibilities include collection of payment,  assisting in handicap assignment and preparing email campaigns to BDHF invitees.

James VanHall

James provided the BDHF with its official name!  James also assists in handicap assignment,  golf course selection and overall organization of teams during the event.   James brings years of experience working with teams of individuals and is critical in maintaining sanity in the group after each round.

JP Kavanagh

JP is primarily responsible for handicap assessment and assignment along with all pre-event shopping.   JP brings with him years of experience in other larger golf events and provides the committee with ideas for scoring and course selection.

John Duba Jr

John is the official breakfast chef of the BDHF and is up well before anyone each morning preparing the coffee for the early risers and cooking all of the tasty bits required to recharge a hungry bunch of golfers.

Ambassador Members:

John Millard Sr

John Sr (“SENIOR”) is responsible for maintaining relationships between the BDHF and the Boyne Highlands Resort staff.   A full golf member at Boyne Highlands,  Senior is responsible for setting up ALL tee times and making all golf payments in advance.   This allows the players to concentrate on just getting to the course and start playing.

Pat Haas

Pat is responsible for providing the BDHF with its lodging at Boyne Highlands.  His rental home off of the Ross #9 course has been home to the BDHF since 2014 and is perfect in it size and location.  Pat is also a certified “ready golf” instructor and provides the BDHF patrons proper instruction on the merits and benifits of playing your round in a timely manner.
